Our chefs select fresh ingredients from the herbarium before every service and it allows us to really focus on extremely fresh, seasonal ingredients which really adds something special to the dishes"
In Full Bloom
The warmer weather certainly suits the garden at the Pipe and Glass, which is in all its glory when bathed in the Yorkshire sunshine.
Over recent years we have been constantly evolving the outdoor space, adding three new garden rooms –Mint, Lovage and Rosemary - and an exclusive outdoor dining area with a bespoke keyhole table. Our kitchen garden and herbarium has also continued to be developed with new species frequently being added.
Our newest addition for 2017 is a Living Wall which features as part of the herbarium and includes Thyme, Oregano, Rosemary, Sage and Basil, to name but a few, as well as a selection of edible flowers, which will all make their way onto the Pipe and Glass menu.
“The Garden is such an important feature of the Pipe and Glass, not only for the enjoyment of our guests who can chose to dine outside overlooking the magnificent Dalton park, but for the ingredients we are able to source for the kitchen” James explains. “Our chefs select fresh ingredients from the herbarium before every service and it allows us to really focus on extremely fresh, seasonal ingredients which really adds something special to the dishes”.
To make reservation* please call our team on 01430 810246.
*Please note that due to the unpredictable nature of the British weather we are only able to take reservations for these tables on the day. However, please state your preference when booking and should the weather be suitable we will always accommodate your request where possible.

Honey, honey…
Honey is one of the most ancient and revered of foods – not for nothing did the Old Testament refer to the Promised Land as ‘flowing with milk and honey’, a phrase which is used to this day to signify fertility and ease.
